Difference between strange,weird,awkward,odd?

おはようございます。

今朝は英語圏の友達とのやり取りで

疑問に思った、

weird

Strange

の違いが気になりました。。。

Do you use this word properly when speaking or something?and which do you use the most?

なんの違いがあるのか

たとえば、以前友人に

Guess

は自分の憶測を話す口語的な意味合いで

think

は自分の確立した意見を述べるような感じって教えてもらいました。

違いは確信があるかないかです。

前者には確信はないが憶測をたてる。

後者には確信があり意見を述べる

今回の

四種の言葉も自分なりの解釈をしました。

当てにしないでくださいね。

weird 

 Strange in a negative way, in a way that makes you feel uneasy.

なんかあそこでアクセサリー売ってる人怪しいよね。。。

みたいな行動を少し否定的に表現する奇妙。

strange

Can mean weird, but more noticeable, making you look again. It is not as negative as weird, but still negative to a degree.

「あの人1人でニヤニヤしながら早歩きしてる」

みたいな強い否定じゃないけど、

つい思わず二度見しそうな変な人や物を指す言葉。

odd

A weaker form of strange and weird - something that is not normal and is noticeable, but not in as strong or shocking a way as the first two.

多分上の二つの表現よりは優しいんだと思う。

なんか奇妙な事というより、

人々の精神的な思いの揺れとか天気とかにも使える感じだと思います。

「晴れ予報なのに雲がかかってきたなあ」ぐらいの不思議がるぐらいだと思います。

I guess

Awkward

Odd, but also embarrassing. It is usually used in a situation where something odd and embarrassing has happened and nobody wants to be the first one to say so.

何かの自分に関わる恥ずかしい、心の中に留めておきたい内容などや

きまずかったり

厄介な立場になる時使うみたいです。
